For the next three months, I’ll be writing and publishing Debt Collector (Are you crazy?? My Logic Brain is still protesting the very nature of embarking on this adventure, but Creative Brain has locked him out of the helm, so it’s full-speed-ahead!).
On release weeks, I’ll be posting Monday Sneak Peeks – mostly because I upload on Monday mornings and the anticipation of the latest episode going live is killing me.
I’ll also be doing some giveaways and fun Debt Collector things. For more of that play-by-play insanity, check out the Debt Collector FB Page.
Delirium (Debt Collector 1)
When I was wrestling with the idea of publishing Debt Collector, the first (major) roadblock I came up against was covers. I would need NINE of them, they had to be tied together somehow, but I wanted each to be unique. And beautiful. And intriguing.
I don’t want much, do I?
I tossed around several ideas, looked at what other people had done, and finally went back to the basics of what a cover is supposed to do: communicate genre in an instant. I realized that the future-noir part of the series was a big part of the feel, and I wanted to get that across in the covers. But the true breakthough was finding a tremendous amount of GORGEOUS black-and-white noir-feeling photos on the stock art sites. The images were stunning, the noir feeling was built in, and there was a wide range to choose from.
Steve Novak (my cover designer) took that concept and made a gorgeous string of covers I can’t wait to show you.
Agony (Debt Collector 2) should be live on all channels by the official release date of Wednesday, March 27th. Except for Apple, which is apparently uploading on a glacial time scale these days.
Come back tomorrow for my guest post On Writing Serials!
