ALL MY BOOKS ARE AVAILABLE TO LIBRARIES IN ALL FORMATS… but there are over 17,000 public libraries in the US and they each choose individually which books they want to carry in their catalog.

Download Libby (an app from OverDrive)
- Libby (from Overdrive) is an app that lets you borrow ebooks and audiobooks from your local library! Download Libby here.
- The first question will be “do you have a library card”?
- If you have a library card: you can put in your zip code to find your library, then you can add your library card to make it easy to check out books!
- If you DON’T have a library card: Libby will take you to your local library website (many allow you to apply for a library card online!)
- If Libby doesn’t recognize your library card: not all libraries use the Overdrive system. My small local library does not, but the bigger Pittsburgh Carnegie Library does. Libraries are usually supported by a city or county and you can belong to more than one, so check around!
- All my ebooks and most of my audiobooks are in Overdrive! If your library uses Overdrive, they can access my books. Your library might not call their digital lending system “Overdrive” (my library calls theirs “My Media Mall”) but your system may still be powered by Overdrive in the background. Check to see if your library uses OVERDRIVE .
- Search Libby for “Susan Kaye Quinn” to find my books! All my ebooks and most of my audiobooks are available in Overdrive for your library to add to their collection. If you don’t see my books in your library, ask your librarian to add them! Librarians love patron requests (even if they can’t always fulfill them).
IF YOUR LIBRARY DOES NOT HAVE MY BOOKS
- IMPORTANT: Libby’s “notify me” tag is not the same as making a request — that notification tag used to notify libraries on the back end about what books patrons wanted added to the collection. Unfortunately, Libby disabled that function so libraries do not get the request.
- MAKE A REQUEST ON YOUR LIBRARY WEBSITE: Most libraries have websites where you can make direct requests for books for them to carry (ebooks, audiobooks, and print). Some have rules about only being able to make three requests or a certain number in a certain timeframe, but public libraries exist to serve the public and generally, they want to hear your requests! It’s not guaranteed the library will acquire your request, but I keep my books inexpensive for libraries, and if you let them know you’re interested, they may very well add it! This is a great no-cost way to support your favorite authors. NOTE: You may have to log into your library website with your library card to be able to find their book request option—if you can’t find it, ask your librarian!
A Quick Thank You From Sue
I know a lot of readers are on limited budgets, but trust me, when you use the library, it’s win-win-win! YOU get books for free, the library pays me, and new readers will discover the books through the Libby app! It’s win all around!
Thanks for giving it a try!
