Either write something worth reading or do something worth writing. – Benjamin Franklin
This weekend I was working on the second half of this quote. (First half here.)
Marveling at the feel of limestone caves and spatterings of rain . . .
Exploring hundred year old lighthouses on tiny islands of isolation . . .
In wonder that 240 Watts of technology can replace what used to require a man and his wife keeping owl hours for forty years . . .
But mostly in awe that the man I married seventeen years ago is still so darn cute!

What a great quote. I'm going to keep it in my quote archives.
Happy anniversary! My dad used to volunteer at a lighthouse, and I remember windy stairs like that. Great pictures!
Love the quote.
Love the staircase shot. So cool.
Yeah, that is a great motivating quote. Love the photos, too!
That is so fun. Especially the last one, and I think you're both darn cute!
@Theresa The lighthouse volunteers get major kudos for traveling up and down those stairs all day long! 🙂
@Stina I was thinking of you when I took that picture! 🙂
@Sherrie Thanks! 🙂
@KarenG The hubs gets the prize for cuteness this year, for accidentally calling our anniversary our "honeymoon!" 🙂
gorgeous photos! and whatta cutie pie (you and your hubs!) happy anniversary!
Sounds like a fun time! Congrats on 17 years!
@aspiring and Laura THANKS! Time really does fly by …
Aw, how sweet! And thank you SOO much! You reminded me that my anniversary is on Sunday!! 🙂
hi miss susan! looks like you did a pretty good job on that second part. lighthouses are soooo cool and theres lots on neat stories that could go with them. it gets my imagining going real fast. the pictures are real nice. caves are pretty neat too. i went in one one time and it got more cold the more deep we went and it was kinda wet. i like those things that hand down from on top of the cave and sorta drip. whats erudite?
…hugs from lenny
If I had the money I'd build a spiral staircase just like that in the middle of my house. And then I'd go spelunking. 🙂
@Amy Happy Anniversary! I totally got the day wrong one year, so you're all in the good!
@Lenny Hi! Caves are awesome. We couldn't go in these, because they were underwater, but I've been down in the kind that go deep in the earth. It's creepy! I always thought the stalagmites and stalagtites looked like teeth. And erudite means scholarly or learned – I think all my commenters are very smart! 🙂
@Bryan You can spelunk in your house? That's cool! My basement is a future archeological dig, so I try not disturb it.
I love lighthouses. Beautiful pictures!
@Tamara Thanks! There is something beautiful and peaceful about these old lighthouse. 🙂
