I squirrel away our Christmas books every year, so they are fresh when they come out again. I even hide the Christmas sheet music. (I hid it so well last year, that we have yet to find it.)
This year, I purchased some new Christmas tomes for presents, including Paige the Christmas Fairy, and Llama, Llama, Holiday Drama (I have a thing for the furry beasts).
The folks at Random Acts of Reading have some Christmas Favorites as well. I’m intrigued by Maya Angelou’s Amazing Peace, and have added it to my Wish List.
What are your favorite holiday books?

hi miss susan! wow you got lots of cool books listed. before mom died she use to read a christmas carol and twas night before christmas to us. now we dont do it any more. im liking the title llama llama holiday drama cause its got me laughing and the picture is so neat. i like furry animals to. ha ha. i think my one brother that loves poem stuff could like that amazing peace one so im gonna tell him about it. thanks for more cool books to think on.
…hugs from lenny
@Lenny Aw, Lenny! I'm sad you don't read those stories anymore. Maybe this year, you can read them to your brothers, and remind them how great they are! p.s. there will be more llama fun to come!
I do the same thing! And we have that crippled lamb one–I sniffle, too. I'd also recommend Olive the Other Reindeer… of course. And then we have some Angelina Ballerina books I'm sure Dark Omen would despise… π lol!~
I'll have to get that llama book! I'm glad you have such wonderful Christmas traditions in your family.
*hee* my mum was so good at hiding stuff that one year I got an xmas pressie the following August *grin*

Well, Santa Mouse is definitely up there, but Bear Stays Up is pretty cute, too. π
#LTM LOL No, not a lot of ballerina anything in our house. π
@Jennifer More llama fun to come! π
@Nicole LOL That happens alarmingly often in my house.
@Kerrie Bear Stays Up looks perfect for my neice (the little one, not the teenager). Thanks for the rec!
I love Llam Llam. π
I'm reading to my daughter a magic animal book by Sue Bentley, which stars a reindeer .
I'm a big fan of Why Christmas Trees Aren't Perfect by Richard Schneider. My parents got it for me after my school did it as a play and I got to play the part of the imperfect tree. But, memories aside, it's a wonderful book with a wonderful message. π
Yup. The Crippled Lamb. Bawl like a baby every time.
I may have dig out my copy this weekend…
@Stina I'll have to check out Bentley's book!
@SideKick Hey there! I'm totes getting that book and envisioning you as a tree. π
@Darby *smiles*
Another Llama book, YAY!
I personally believe you can't have enough Llamas.
Thank you for mentioning our picks! My daughter's class has been reading The Elf on the Shelf. I haven't read it and keep meaning to check it out to see if it's worth owning for our own home.
