Sparky regrets that second bag of catnip on New Year’s Eve.
A Writer’s New Year’s Resolutions:
- Limit myself to seven mini-pots of tea, ten on a writing day, no more than twelve on a writing deadline
- Vow to keep my TBR pile short enough that it won’t kill the cat if it falls over
- Not to reflexively click “buy now” for every cool writing book I see
- Refrain from yelling at the cats when they complain about the empty food bowl
And seriously …
Stay grateful for the many blessings I have in my life, every day.

Love your resolutions!!
I'm with you on the tea addiction – but I figure it could be worse π
Hope your 2011 is full of joy and laughter π
those darn kitties…

I'm betting there are a lot of people feeling like that kitty this morning! Sooo cute!
Thanks for joining the blogfest fun. I'm loving all these pics!
@Jemi There really can't be enough tea.
@iZombie *grins*
@Vicki Hey! You're in Chicago (I saw on one of your other posts)?? I'm in Palatine! Do you ever attend SCBWI events? We should have tea sometime. π
Happy New Year!
I resolve not to end up looking like that cat. Or maybe it's the other way around…
@Bryan I'm sure he was a happy kitty right up to the bitter end. π I hope your 2011 is filled with happiness and writerly success!
That cat and I are a lot alike — sometimes frustrated to exhaustion. lol
May each year be better than the last for you.
Cute pic and great list! Happy New Year…:)
That is a great image. I looked rather like it when my son woke me up at 06:30. I might have had four hours sleep. :s
Happy New Year.
Great resolutions – and it sounds like they're doable. Good luck!
@Mary Thanks! And thanks for stopping by!
@Jamie Happy New Year to you!
@Elaine That's me, pretty much every morning. π
@Andrea Yeah, don't want to stretch too much with the resolutions! There's not much danger of me drinking too little tea. π
Cute picture and humor is always a great way to start the new year! Best wishes to you this year!
Susan I just finished your book and I loved it! I am a sucker for a good (clean) love story. Okay, Teagan and Clayton falling into love at first sight TOO was a BIT MUCH but I still loved it. Then I stopped by your blog today and decided we must definitely be kindred spirits – I am so with you about the tea and yelling at the cats!!! However I disagree about the BUY NOW button. There is no better investment than books and think of all the fellow writers out there who dream of people buying and reading their books!
Susan, your poor kitty! Too funny.
I'm glad you liked my flamingo pic…. Let me know when you pop into the city…
We can to to the zoo to see them.
Michael
@Danette Humor makes everything go down easier. π
@Margo Those are all things I really don't hesitate much to do, including the books! And I'm a fan of supporting fellow authors, as you probably already know. Thanks for reading my book! I'm glad you enjoyed it (even the silly parts). Happy New Year!
Cute pic and fun post! I'm a coffee gal myself, but never thought of limiting myself….That might help with the hand shakes. :0) Your website is lovely and your book sounds like one I'd enjoy! I'll add it to my own TBR list! christy
@gideon I will! I don't get into the city often, but I'm due for a trip to Navy Pier sometime soon. π
@erica and christy LOL Thanks for stopping by! I hope you enjoy the book! π
Yeah, I need to hold off on the buy every book I like thing too…
Susan, I know what you mean abou the TBR pile. I think mine is breeding…
@Jolene Not the worst addiction to have, but my husband just shakes his head … π
@Darby Hahaha! Maybe that's what happened to mine! π
I love your resolutions and may have to adopt them as my own, except for #4 as I don't have cats. But I do drink too much tea, buy too many cool books (and not only writing books), and have a TBR pile that's out of control. May your resolutions stick! And if not, at least you'll have icanhascheezeburger to fall back on π
@Charity I should have added "refrain from spending time on LOLcats" to the list. π
heeheheeheeee! so cute! love the resolutions as well! π
happy new year!
Great resolutions! And I love the kitteh! LOLZ cats are definitely a staple for me…
@aspiring Happy New Year to you too! π
@Hart Those kittehs get me every time. π
These are fantastic resolutions! I think cat safety is an important (but under-utilised) benchmark when it comes to TBR piles and other precarious arrangements of books.
@Amie Hahaha! My cats certainly think so. π
Hahah. I love LOLCATS. That kitteh is so cute.
Brilliant resolutions but #1-3 I could not keep up and #4 I could only do because I have no cat. Hehe. You have a stronger will than I.
@Mia We'll see how well I do! Thanks for stopping by! π
OH, you have a BUY NOW obsession as well? I somehow turn on my Kindle and buy a new book. I've told my husband I don't know how it happens. I don't think he believes me…
