I feel like I’ve been neglecting you lately. Sure, I tweet my blog posts, and occasionally whine about the weather, but what have I done for you lately? An occasional dalliance with #yalitchat just reinforces how much I’ve neglected our relationship.
#Imsorry
From now on, I promise to faithfully post something every day, throwing my thoughts into the electronic maw to be chomped, swallowed, and occasionally retweeted. I vow to visit you more than just my lunch hour and when there are no good updates on Facebook. I won’t neglect you in favor of my shiny new WiP, making dinner, or doing the laundry.

LIke I said yesterday, It's not a big deal! Though I do console Twitter with cookies about your absence. ๐
LOL I've only recently gotten more active on Twitter but I know what you mean, sometimes it's hard to find something to say in 140 characters or less!
I know how you feel. My kids are on spring break this week so blogging will probably take a back seat as well as writing. *sighs*
@Laura Thank you for taking care of Twitter for me!
@Lindsay I always have stuff to say, just not necessarily things other people will find interesting! ๐
@Sheri Enjoy the kiddos! I know it's hard when you feel the tug of the writerly world!
LOL – You're in good company. I usually only tweet my blog posts. Anything else is usually a retweet or info to my bloggers. Don't feel guilty, time is precious, and we writers must do what we can :o)
The only stuff I tweet are great writing craft posts, contests, funny posts, or writing quotes like "Manuscript: something submitted in haste and returned at leisure." ~Oliver Herford (smile)
I never seem to come up with anything original on my own. 140 characters is hard!
I haven't quite figured out the reason for the twitter yet. I have an account, but I never check it and I've never tweeted. Is it really necessary or just another distraction? I can't decide.
i don't tweet… i don't even really understand what twitter is… but i would have to say that that shiny new wip is way more important. ๐ forget twitter- just write! ๐
@DU I find it humorous that an amorphous cloud can induce guilt in me! #youareright
@Margo I'm in awe of people who pump out the 140 character creativity – I think it's a skill you have to develop.
@LG Necessary? Lord, I hope not! Distraction, yes, but it does have its uses. Which is why I keep getting pulled back into it…
@aspiring Yes, Ma'am! And that is what I'm doing today – diving into that adrenaline rush known as the First Draft.
I'm guilty of this too. FB as well. Actually, I'm much more likely to go to Twitter than FB. One day that will changed (like if I land a book deal). But for now, my energy is spent blogging. ๐
I still don't know how to Twitter. #shannonfail
Congratulations, Susan! Youโve been given The Versatile Blogger award. (Check Scribblers Cove.)
@Stina I spend my energy blogging as well – and I think it's good to have a focus.
@Shannon LOL Someday…resistance is futile! ๐
@Jonene Thanks! Hopping over now!
Oh as you probably know I'm a complete Twitter addict. It's terrible really. I constantly have tweetdeck going in the corner of my screen, and get distracted more than not. But man that failwhale is my arch enemy. Just call me Ahab.
I have been really active on Twitter lately, enjoying the speed of it compared to Blogging. I believe Twitter will be the next big thing, because of the speed and ease of it.
hi miss susan! yikes! i dont know not one thing bout twittering except for the birds at our critter cafe. ha ha. so i got not a peep to say on this post. ack!
…laughs and hugs from lenny
Twitter is hit and miss for me. We haven't gotten really serious about each other yet ๐
I'm still try to find a balance with Twitter. Maybe I need to find a post on its benefits to bump it up on my "deserves take time away from writing" scale. And I don't get nearly as much time to write as I'd like.
@LisaGG Ahab! You crack me up. And you rock the Twitter usage. ๐
@KarenG It is definitely faster than blogging, but oh I love the blogging so. Twitter is jealous. ๐
@Lenny Peep! You don't need Twitter yet, hon – you got all the good stuff with blogging! ๐
@Sherrie Ha! Yeah, Twitter and I aren't really steady yet either.
@Natasha There really isn't anything that deserves to take time away from writing (except family stuff). My post is really tongue-in-cheek, mocking myself for taking Twitter too seriously. No worries! You're doing it right. ๐
