A virus laid siege to my body this week, so I didn’t make my goal of finishing the rough draft of Sekrit Project. In fact, I’m still not back on solid foods, so this will be short.
First, THE WINNER!
Bryan wins a book of his choice! Something I know he will love.
Thanks to everyone for all your support along the way to drafting Sekrit Project! Although it’s not done yet, I know it will be soon. Our instructor has promised that next week we will spend a lot of time writing our WiP, so I have high hopes.
And your writing quotes were uplifting, even as the virus appeared to be winning the war.
Second, THE UNVEILING OF SEKRIT PROJECT…
Sekrit was secret at first for lack of a title, and then just because I liked the way the word looks. But I’ve tortured you long enough. The title for my new middle grade fantasy is …
… at least until I decide to change it. π
If you are so inclined, leave a comment speculating, based on the title alone, what you think the story is about.
Now, I’m going to eat a cracker and head back to the couch …
p.s. Hopefully I’ll recover enough to attend my writer workshop next week, during which I may or may not blog. But I’ll be back by the 20th, for sure!
Could it be a human swaps places with a faery? Intriguing title! Get well soon!
I have great sympathy for you, as I have been without solid food as well. Oh for a piece of toast…
And the only thing better than solid food is a free book.
π
Oh, and I love the title. But I still want a subtitle…
The Faery Swap: A Sekrit Project
π
The Faery Swap- cute title. Imagining a ton of hilarious antics.
Cute… though I want to change that p to a t… The Faery Swat: and you thought Mosquitoes were Bad. π
@Catherine BINGO! On the first try, too. Maybe the title is going to work after all! π
@Bryan I think that may have to be the working title!
@Robyn Living up to the promise of that premise is my hope!
@Bane How do you really feel about those small winged creatures?? LOL
Ooooh. A. It sounds fun just by the title!! and B. I'm guessing either a changeling or a human that swaps places with a faery? I could actually keep going, but I'll wait and see what you say. π
@LisaGG You are spot on. I'd say the title is working if people are getting the main idea pretty quickly.
Okay, at first I thought it said, Faery Swamp so I couldn't figure out why everyone thought it was about swapping. π
It sounds cool. I like it.
The Faery Swap sounds to me like a human and a faery are trading places, maybe because they think the other person's life might be better? Sounds like it could be a very fun book to read!
Oh I love that title! Titles are so important to get right. And then most get changed anyhow. o.O
The title has me asking a whole batch of questions from the get go. I really want to know why a faery would swap with a human. Consider me hooked.
I hope you are feeling better!
Love the title!
@Laura Ha! I think Faery Swamp should be the sequel. π
@Sherrie Yay! I think everyone's getting the basic idea, which is good. And hopefully it's intriguing enough that people will want to pick it up (people like agents – ha!).
@Nicole I know, right? But at least we can try. π
@Leslie Awesome! Just what I want – lots of questions! Why indeed… π
@Len Thanks! I am, much better. But boy howdy I was hating life there for a little while. Ugh.
This book is obviously about the Faery S.W.A.P. which is Faeryland's Special Weapons And Potions team.
@Rebecca Ha! And awesome – I may have to add that to the story now. π
Ah, I love that title!!! The Faery Swap huh? I'm envisioning something along the lines of the parent trap. . . only with Fairies:)
ooooohhhhhhH!!!!!
BEHOLD the sekrit revealed!!!
whoo hoo!
sounds cute!
ohman! so many people guessed right! i had an image of a couple kids swapping their fairy godmothers at lunch time, like they were sandwiches. i was WAY off!
I hope you recovered over the weekend! I LOVE THAT TITLE! I could think of so many fun things related to a faery swap, ala Freaky Friday. Character #1 has befriended a musical fairy that helps her compose and perform – one day that fairy gets swapped out with a mechanical fairy that can fix her car but can't hold a tune in a bucket π
Great title, Sue! I can't wait to hear more about it. π
Sounds fun, just from the title! Thanks for sharing. π
Cool title. Hm, I wonder what it's about. π
Get well soon!!!
Viruses – if they don't get your body, they'll get your computer
@Lindsay The Parent Trap! Cool. Not exactly, but there are hints of that in the story. π
@aspiring That's exactly the image I was afraid of – kids swapping fairies like Pokemon! So, it's good to see I'm not crazy to think people might have that impression. I figure they'll figure it out from the jacket copy…and they might still buy it (yes, I'm fantasizing book browsers).
@Margo Oh! I love that idea – what fun! π
@Sharon, Shallee, Ghenet, and Nick Thanks for stopping by! π
