Open Minds has advanced to the Top 5 Finalists in YA for Kindle Book Review’s Best Indie Books of 2012!
There are lots of contests out there that are more scam than honor, especially for indie authors seeking recognition. For Kindle Book Review, however, the entry fee was low (a good sign) and KBR has a strong history of supporting indie authors through their reviews – their interests truly line up with recognizing great indie works, something I heartily support (and recently cheered with the Indelible’s INDIEpendence Day celeberation).
I know KBR takes this seriously. So I’m proud to have made it into the top 5 for YA, and double proud to be there with fellow Indelible S.R. Joahnnes. The other categories look similarly awesome. If you’re looking for some great indie reads, here’s an excellent place to start:

Congrats to you and Shelli! How awesome.
Congratulations! Very cool.
How exciting! Congratulations! ^_^
Congratulations! And yeah, it'd be awesome to see your name up there with Hugh Howey's. Just finished Wool. LOVED IT!
Congratulations! 🙂
Congratulations!
Congratulations! How exciting! Best of luck to you. I'd love to see you get top billing!!!!
Susan, I'm so excited for you (and Shelli!). When I think of the bazillions of books they had to chose from and yours was one of five. Holy cow, that's a huge honor. I don't think I'd be anymore excited if it were a book of my own on this list.
Well, maybe a little, but not much!
Woo-hoo, to both you and Shelli. After all your hard work and great writing this is so deserved. Fingers crossed for you.
That is wonderful news, Susan. I know I enjoyed Open Minds and can attest to it being a great choice for the Top 5.
Very cool! Congratulations!!
Congrats on making the top 5. I hope you win too.

LOL! You win for Comment of the Day.
Yay! That's great!
Congratulations! How cool is that!
