First there was the flood. That was looking bad when the water was coming in faster than I could bail it out, but we recovered and only the ugly basement carpet was sacrificed.
Then there was the power outage. That was looking bad when the temperatures were rising and the kids were hot and antsy, but we were back out of the dark ages by dinner. Could have been a lot worse.
Then they took my internets (I’m blogging from the Baker’s Square, because they have free WiFi).
Ouch.
The Fates know where it really hurts. π
Be back as soon …
… UPDATE: I’M BACK! OMG I HAVE INTERNET! *calms down* *breathes deeply*
I love how everyone thinks I am dedicated by getting my blog here, all the while I’m thinking Boy, my readers are really going to see the depth of my internet addiction when they see me posting from the Baker’s Square.
LOVE YOU PEOPLE!
Ok, I promise a less insane post on Wednesday. π
An ugly basement carpet doesn't sound like a casualty at all … more like an excuse to do what you've always wanted to.
Hours without electricity in stifling heat — that's worse.
But no internet — Oh, the horror! I think I would freak out!
Oh no, Susan! Well, if you're up for a drive down south I've got all the Wifi you can eat at my house.
Hey, I have a little surprise for you at my blog today—I asked my friend's daughter to review Life, Liberty and Pursuit, and I don't know if there's ever been a more glowing review written! π
Ugh! Hates when that happens. π
Good thing you didn't let it stop you.
That's commitment.
Yikes! Susan–that's all terrible! I hope things are back to normal right away for you guys. I can't even imagine~
((hugs)) <3
Talk about dedication. Hope the powers that be back off (or start up) super soon.
Good luck cleaning up the mess, Susan.
It's the lack of power and no internet access that would get me. Fate and nature can remind us occasionally that humans are not fully in control of everything.
You exhibit your tenacity by finding a new location, and keeping up your blog. That's dedication.
@Dianne I was freaking. It wasn't pretty. π
@Nicki OMG what a sweet surprise! Hopping over now!
@Natasha Commitment. Crazy. Potato. Potahto. π
@LTM Thanks for the hugs, sweets!
@Bane My repeated messages to Comcast apparently worked. Or they got sick of hearing my whining. π
A power outage in this heat wave? The horror! We had storms but thankfully the power stayed on in my condo. Thank goodness for restaurants with free wi-fi. I remember when the 2008 hurricane winds knocked out power in Ohio and everyone was clambering for the outlets at Panera. π
I can see right through the internet addiction thing. But only because I have it too! π Glad you're back online.
Hi Susan .. floods, storms, heat and no power .. yugh – what's the world coming to .. but you're back up and running .. thankfully – hope the clearing up isn't too bad .. Hilary
I'd rather have no tv than no internet.
eeeks! I'm glad you're back from all that.
@Jennifer The heat – ugh. We are not friends, the heat and I.
@LisaGG I knew you would understand!
@Hilary Still working on cleaning up the basement, but sadly it's not much worse than it normally looks!
@mshatch You and me both!
@Tricia *long sigh* Good to be back. π
LOL. Somehow from this will come a novel. Hope all returns to normal once more.
Mine goes out from time to time and then I am looking at my iPhone but then can't read everything. Some days I go crazy!
Wow, that sounds crazy!! Hope everything calms down for you!
OMG – What a hair pulling series of events. We lost power while we were on vacay – bye bye Wifi -I relate to your lack of Internet pain. May the Wifi fairy continue to fly over your laptop.
@Gabriella I certainly would know how to write a power outage, with all the ones we've had this year! Thanks for stopping by. π
@Regina Doesn't it just make you crazy? I need an iPhone.
@Laura Things are better now, but when the internet was out for a few minutes this morning I panicked!
@Laura I need an internet fairy! Or possibly an internet fairy godmother. With tools.
Yay! Happy to see you back! *trawling your site looking for updates on Life, Liberty and Pursuit sequels*
@Deniz LOL! And thank you! Have you seen the sequel added to Goodreads? (Note: there is no sequel planned) It's a very nice compliment, though. π
I am soooooo sorry about your basement. Ours flooded last summer and it was awful Email me if you need to vent. I had no idea when you posted about not having internet… ((((HUGS))))
@Sharon Thanks!! π
