This 10 min TED talk is given by the “Headspace Guy”… that gentle voice you hear on the app. I didn’t realize he was actually the co-founder of Headspace (ie not just voice talent hired for the job) and that he was also a monk. This 10 min video is a wonderful introduction to the concept of mindfulness and the practice of meditation. It’s fascinating to listen to his voice in this context–to hear his story, but also just sense the calm of the man. I think that’s what pulls people in to longtime practitioners…there’s an effervescent quality that radiates from them.
I have been taking Brain.fm naps a few times per week and it’s really helped me with my blood pressure and stress levels. I’m not sure I fall asleep but listening to the tunes and relaxing definitely helped!
